When considering which Sweepstakes software provider to choose for your business, you really should ask the question: “How much does your company innovate?” And I’m not talking about game titles and themes. Those can be skinned easily and do not represent innovation as they are built on existing mechanics such as game engines.
What I’m talking about is a new method, idea or entirely new product. By definition, that’s what innovation means. So: When was the last time Company XYZ introduced a new method, idea or product? And can Company XYZ intelligently explain the innovation and how it progresses the technology for video sweepstakes? And while you’re at it, ask them: How much of the business is dedicated to innovation, i.e. how much is re-invested for R&D into new methods, ideas and products? Big companies such as Yahoo devote 40 percent of resources to long range and speculative development. Companies have to in order to remain competitive. HEST commits to this philosophy with real dollars year after year.
This is a key point largely overlooked in our industry: technology innovation. As many companies in the sweepstakes industry are not technology companies, they are relying almost exclusively on other companies to advance the industry, from which they will attempt to copy. Copying innovation is dangerous, reactive and short term–not something a technology company should do. HEST at it’s core is built around long range planning, innovation and longevity. Is Company XYZ?
HEST started the Sweepstakes software business early in 2001/2002 and its principals have several patents issued and pending on the technology.
Does Company XYZ? Since HEST opened in 1997 (15 years ago!) it has spent millions of dollars on innovation. Can Company XYZ say the same? HEST routinely upgrades software and sweepstakes games with innovation features and functions that drive the marketplace. Does Company XYZ? HEST introduces new products into the marketplace annually. Does Company XYZ?
Please do yourself and your business a favor and ask the questions: Do you want to trust your business future on a company that doesn’t innovate? That is months and years behind the industry leaders? I wouldn’t!
