And was suppose a successor of ARJ.jar soft ware can achieve a good quality compression. It sometimes confused with .jar extension. .jar is the extension for the java archive files. While the jar software is tool for keeping the record of compression flies. This tool has some instructions and features for the compression files archives.jar has a same command and option feature set to the PC archiver ARJ, but it is not archive compatible with ARJ.

Jar software is available in two versions. One is available in Dos version and second is available for windows version. These two versions are 16 bit DOS version and a 32 bit Windows version. These versions are compactable and can compress data files for both operating systems.
