If you are planning to purchase a console this holiday season, you need to know some of the things about the top consoles which can help you decide what console to purchase. This article will be reviewing a top video game console called Microsoft Xbox 360. This will show you some of the strengths and weaknesses of this console which can greatly affect the way your play games.
Xbox 360 is developed by a software giant called Microsoft. This is their second console after an aggressive attempt to enter the gaming industry in 2002. Using the vast resources of Microsoft, Xbox was able to rise to the top and even knock Sega out of the competition.
One of the reasons why this console was an instant hit to gamers is its phenomenal game called Halo. I personally think that Microsoft wont survive the competition if not for this game. Halo is a first-person shooting game that allows the players to compete with other Xbox players through an open network called Xbox Live. This is also the reason why Microsoft was able to establish its name as the console for hardcore gamers who prefer first-person shooting games.
Microsoft also has great 3rd party support from game developers, which gives the console great numbers of games that can be played. We know that 3rd party companies are great contributors to the success of a console and this is the reason why Xbox was able to compete with the game giants Nintendo and Sony.
Unfortunately, Xbox is more focused on hardcore gamers and this is their greatest weakness. Casual gamers may see this console as uninteresting because most of the games that it offers are not family-friendly.
