What is a PDA?

PDA’s (Personal Digital Assistant) are mobile devices used as a personal information manager and can perform various functions simultaneously. Sometimes known as ‘Smartphones’, they perform easy functions that used to be only done on computers and laptops. Today’s PDA can be synchronized to the laptops or computer share information or work simultaneously with both, saving the savvy consumer time, effort and money.

What was once thought of as a technological miracle only a few short years ago is now part of both the everyday and business mainstream. It can be used as a computer, a camera, a notes pad, tv and cd player, and a cell phone. They are now thinner and small enough to fit in your purse, your pocket or your briefcase. It has become such a part of society and the culture in which we live that we often feel naked without it.

Most PDA’s have touch screens, but some still have the traditional key pad, much like a computer. You can use it strictly as a note pad, not having the capability of a cell phone available if that is what you choose. It can be used as storage, backing up old computers and parking information on their hard drive. There are detachable keyboards as well for the die hard and those not comfortable with the ever changing landscape of technology.

Over all most of the PDA’s purchased today have the built in convenience of a cell phone and other programs, such as an address book, contact names, to-do list and calendars, just to name a few. PDAs are constantly being upgraded and evolving into faster, easier and smaller machines. What used to be as heavy as a normal computer is now as thin as a passport. It is truly amazing how far technology has come with this economical business and educational tool.

Each consumer has to figure out what works best for them. With the constant refining and improvements made to PDA and all electronic devices, it wise not to get too comfortable with one model anyway. It may just become obsolete tomorrow.

An Important Choice: Your Cell Phone Plan

Wireless phones or cell phones as they are also called are one of the most famous and needed inventions of our time. Although many of us are used to using them and don’t appreciate their existence we should know that our life would be quite harder without them and we would have to face many various communication problems. In order to use a wireless phone you will need to choose from hundreds of different wireless phone plans which determine the cost of your calls and other extras which are provided.

There are hundreds of different plans and it won’t be hard for you to find at least one, however, this big number of wireless phone plans is something very useful, because it gives you the opportunity to choose from different costs, taxes, expenses and services. You should take your time and analyze many offers of mobile operators so that you can choose the best plan for you and get the maximum out of it.

Of course such plans require you to sign a contract in which you state that you agree with the services and prices proposed to you by the operator. It is very important to carefully analyze such contracts, because there are many new mobile operators which try to lure you to signing contracts with hidden conditions and back doors which allow them to take more money from you or have complete control over your services.

Many operators like to offer a package of services, instead of just a plan for a wireless phone and many of these packages may include free talking minutes, free messages, wireless internet, various downloads and many others. This is a very good offer in most cases, because the cost all the services combined is usually lower than the cost you would have to pay for them separately and this can save you a lot of money. The bad thing about the contracts signed with mobile operators is the fact that they last for a certain amount of months or years in which you are obligated to pay certain taxes.

Thanks to the thousands of wireless phone plans available, you won’t have to try very hard to find some plans, but if you want to really get a good deal, then it is highly recommended to perform a deep research and find information about the services provided and of course about their quality. This way you will be able to make the perfect balance between quality, quantity and of course most importantly – price.

Why Your Next Cell Phone Should Be a Touchscreen

Its hard to pick out five people in a group and not find one with a touchscreen phone- thats how much they are loved. Sure, there is the crowd of non-conformers who like to stay true to their non-touch phones, but its only a matter of time before they are swayed into giving in. If the bug has gotten to you already, then you probably have that overwhelming need to shop for a touchscreen phone. Its a great idea, and here are a couple of things you should know about these cell phones.

Touchscreen cell phones adopt one of two kinds of screens- capacitive or resistive. Capacitive screens are usually more expensive, offering a more user-friendly touch experience since they rely on electric conduction rather than pressure. You can only use your fingers if you want to generate a response. Resistive touch screens rely on pressure, so you need to slightly press down on the screen. Both are good, with the difference being their pricing and their overall user experience.

Not many years have passed since touchscreens first gained global acceptance and mass production began. Therefore its deeply encouraging to know that even on a budget you can be able to afford one. A Star from Samsung or a Cookie from LG is within reach if you have $150, and many others for less than $200, and that is without a contract. When you are looking for many features along with the touch panel, then you have to dig deeper into your pockets.

For a phone that relies entirely on touch input, damaging the screen/ touch panel would be catastrophic. But the chances of this happening are not so elevated, so you can let your guard down for a while and enjoy the experience that it has to offer. Touch-screen phones bank on their large screens, so watching videos, browsing photos and the internet would be nothing short of pleasurable. Add motion-sensor games to the equation and you got the whole nine yards.

Almost every phone manufacturer out there has a touchscreen phone to their name. Samsung and HTC are right there in the lead, with the others in hot pursuit. A lot of investment is made to these phones, especially those meant for the high-end market since they have pretty much any feature you can imagine- from 5MP snappers, Wi-Fi, CPUs, GPS and so on. Actually, the most advanced cell phones in the market today have touchscreens.

Its amazing being part of the hype and getting a touchscreen phone the next time you are out to buy one. The overall user experience will make you regret why you hadnt gotten it sooner.
